Any Home Bakers Here?

Well my baking friends, I actually baked today! Yesterday we went to my aunts and picked more apples, Ive been making more applesauce and now have 14 more jars. Because I had so many apples, and already had 47 jars of applesauce from canning last weekend, I decided to make apple cake too. So the apple cake is in the oven, the last of the canning jars are almost done and it's 8:50pm and my five year old is still awake

Fried apple pies? Guess that means I have to take up my station by the mail box again!

Oh yummy!
The Ravioli sounds delicious and I'll take 2 (yes TWO) dozen apple pies!!! Thank you very much...

My grandma used to make sweet potato and apple pies-she never used a recipe, she made her apple pies in a shallow tart pans all double crusted. When they had cooled she would stack about 4 or 5 together. The men would cut it like cake and you would have layers of filling and crust. Oh...that was over 30yrs ago and I can still taste them. So good.

What a clever idea to stack the tarts that way. Man, no one can bake like a real grandma (I was lucky enough to have one of those too)!

Well done Alice!

Since you can, have you ever been over on the canning thread? They have a lot of good looking recipes there (including canned apple pie filling) and the pictures are always so pretty.

I bet her pies always turned out so very good.

My grandmother used to make wonderful teacakes with no measuring and no written instructions. Two of my aunts had written recipes they attributed to grandma, I tried them both, but neither turned out as tasty as grandma's.

@Alice28 is baking!

You are really on an apple marathon, wish I had your energy.

Hope the cake turned out well, would you share the recipe? I am thinking about baking one this week and surfed yesterday for an apple cake recipe but couldn't decide on one.
