Any Home Bakers Here?

I'm doing my cutout sugar cookies that I do for every holiday as I have an addiction to cookie cutters...I did these for my friends husbands 50th birthday party last year.

Those tombstone cookies are great! I need to get some Halloween cookie cutters to add to my collection.
I want to get a huge canister to put my cookie cutters in and leave them out on the counter. They are taking up way too much room in my baking drawer... too many gadgets I still need to try out and I can't find them with all the cookie cutters in there.

  is baking!

You are really on an apple marathon, wish I had your energy.

Hope the cake turned out well, would you share the recipe?   I am thinking about baking one this week and surfed yesterday for an apple cake recipe but couldn't decide on one.

Apple Cake
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2tsp salt
2tsp vanilla
1 cup sugar
1 cup wheat flour
1 egg
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp nutmeg
4 cups diced apples
(1/4cup sugar 1tsp cinnamon mix together to sprinkle on top)

Mix together until well moistened. Pour into greases and floured 7x11 pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake 350 for 40-50min.

It was really yummy. My aunt gave me the recipe friday when we went over to prick apples. She was getting some apples to make apple cake and gave me the recipe to try.

@DigMyChicks - those cookies are great, you have talent.

@NorthFLChick - don't bother waiting at the mailbox. The apples pies are awful

. I knew something was wrong when they rolled out so easy and looked prefect before frying.

But I usually deep fry and decided to try it the old fashion way with less oil in an iron skillet - and used Crisco instead of Veggie Oil….

Don't know what I was thinking - I know the grease ,was at the the right temperature, but they browned way too fast and the dough did not get totally done. Nearly burned half of them and the last one slipped and crashed on the floor

.

So, am blaming DH that he must have bought the wrong canned biscuits

. He actually ate one of those doughy burnt messes, lied and said they weren't that bad but bet he doesn't stop them from going in the trash.

I did make a double batch of filling and placed 1/2 in freezer, may try deep frying the next batch.

Thanks, this one sounds like I can do it, once the burnt biscuit smell from the fried pie flopper clears out..

Thanks @Alice28 , at least the prep went so fast, much quicker than ever.

Hoped ya'll would get a chuckle out of this, I'm still laughing

Thought about offering one to the flock, but don't want them gossiping about my frying skills:)

But lesson learned, if something works, don't try to change it.
