It is very OLD Recipe from my Mom: in the Kitchen Aid Mixer
2 cups of all purpose flour 1 teaspoon of baking powder 1 teaspoon
of salt 1 teaspoon of black pepper 1 teaspoon of anise seeds
1 teaspoon of fennel seeds Mix these together using the dough hook
Well mixed add: 1/2 cup of the Best White Wine you have 1/2 cup
extra virgin olive oil.....turn the mixer on and knead for 6 minutes.
Let the dough rest for 5 minutes covered wit a tea towel. I use my
dough scraper and cut a slice at a time and roll ....cut into small pieces
and roll each and for a small circle. This recipe makes about 36 cookies.
Bake in 400-425 degree oven for 20-25 minutes. Light Golden

Thanks Aria, I don't think I've ever had a cookie with wine in it before.

So there's no sugar in the cookies at all?

Very nice!

Yup, how long do you like to leave it in the fridge?

Usually I make up 2 of the 3 doughs the day after making. The 3rd dough I've left in the fridge for up to 5 days (but it gets harder to work with).

If you want to try saving some for later, I've made up pizzas with the dough & toppings and frozen them before. They bake up nicely at a later date.
