Lol ditto, next year i thinking of raising some turkeys in hopes for thanksgiving and christmas but couldnt this year also depends on whether or not we have blackhead in our soil as thats deadly to turkeys. We also are talking about raising meat birds and getting a two dairy calfs and a bull calf and a bull for meat. So we see what we do. If no one does i try for next year.
Appartently the chickens will pick it from the soil(doesnt hurt them) but if you have a turkey with the chickens they can give it to the turkey which will cause liver to get black spots which will cause it (the liver i believe) to fail and kill the turkey.
Your county extension office might offer that service or at least be able to tell you who does do it. Worth a phone call anyway. No problem i was talking to some about keeping turkeys with chickens and found out. Now how and were you get your soil tested out is unknow to me.
