Any Home Bakers Here?

Hi all.

I have a question for those of you who have an oven with the heating element up top. When you bake bread, do you put it on the center rack or down low? I've noticed some things brown more in this oven. It could be because the temperature is actually accurate but I'm just curious.

Anyway, I baked a cornbread casserole today for dinner. This is why I'm curious, it's evenly brown on top and that wasn't ever true with my old oven.

I am going to be very blunt with what I am going to say. Before I say it, promise me you all will not panic.

I may have COVID19. I am showing some symptoms. I am going to get tested right now.
That's not good. I hope you feel better Jared, keep us posted on how you're doing!

I hope it is a false alarm Jared and you just have a little bug.

I think I use the center position or the next one down. I do notice that things in the back get a bit more cooked than in the front if it is a "long cook" item like french fries (french bakes??) so I rotate the sheet part way through.

My Toaster oven will do that-- I use the lower rack for baking.

I hope the test is negative!
