We don't have water hooked up to our fridge, even though our fridge has a really nice ice maker and water fount. The water at our house is so hard and full of minerals that it would crust up and plug really fast. It is so bad that it is tinged yellow. DH is looking to see if he can find an adapter so he can hook up a reverse osmosis to a water line and then hook the fridge up to that. We have a reverse osmosis system for drinking water at the kitchen sink and love it. So for now, we use trays for our ice cubes...

We had hard water here until we started using surface water. It was a big project for 3 Cities and UC Davis

I got a cap, went under the house, and replaced the broken tubing with the cap. Leak is stopped, but the fridge won’t have water.

I should be a plumber.

Yes they do! And good trades people are not always easy to find.

Well, I fixed the water leak. Here’s what happened:

We were moving out the fridge to lay down new flooring in the kitchen. While doing that, the valve connecting to the fridge broke CLEAN OFF. Copper tubing snapped in half. Water pouring all over the place.

We had to shut off the water to the whole house in order to stop the leak. That bad.

I got a cap, went under the house, and replaced the broken tubing with the cap. Leak is stopped, but the fridge won’t have water.

I should be a plumber.

Good trade to learn and shut off valve are worth there weight in gold

Yes they do! And good trades people are not always easy to find.

You're right about good trades people being hard to find Bruce. Another thing about plumbers, I've never met a single one that didn't have all the work they wanted or needed.

Getting a bit boring here with my baking. Just the usual 2x granary sourdough loaves.
I have just over the last week come out of a mild depressive mood so I've not been upto much baking, and my bread hasn't been turning out as good. Maybe I will pick it up over the coming weeks.

YES, it just seems to get worst not better. I think it will be a LONG TIME
before it ends. And I do not think we will go back to what we thought as normal. I am sure most of us look forward to happier times. Let's be grateful for what we do have. Aria
