Any Home Bakers Here?

OK Question.

Like I said the other day people can get weird about chicken eggs. I am gunna get weird just real quick.

Royal Frosting ...

How long at room temp. is Royal Frosting good.
Also I have 2 pregnant daughters and 4 yr old Grand daughter who will make the rounds here for Christmas, should I try another frosting or will the egg whites be ok?

I am sure at some point in my life I have probably eaten royal icing on something or other but I have never made it myself and want to try the gingerbread coop. Store bought just wont due as glue. and my moms Butter cream will not due for glue.

They tell pregnant women to avoid anything with raw egg or deli meats and anything left out more then an hour. So i say try something else. Its mostly because pregnant women immune system is down so what normally wouldnt effect them can effect them. I make homemade ice cream i make sure to cook the egg mixture. Oh and if you do stuffing cook it outside the turkey as they tell us to avoid the stuffing because its might not get heat up high enough to kill bacteria. Dr's are no fun and eggnog is a no go as well.

Thank you that is helpful.

That is alot of food to avoid! I am so glad I am done having babies. a well done burger who wants that? No lunch meats? What do you eat? healthy stuff ... but no sprouts or juice bars.

Pregnancy has gotten complicated.

Lol i agree on that its really up to the person on what they want to risk lol and husbands can be a controling pain lol i cant wait till this is over so i can have a ham sandwich i keep craving! Oh an shellfish and fish because of mercury levels. On that i still eat it once or twice a month but thats all they allow they are party poopers. My best friends husband reads more about it then mine thankfully she cant get away with anything lol i can because he doesnt do as much research lol.

I used a Royal Icing mixture I found at Walmart. It's a powder that you add water to. The box directions said you could keep it on the counter for up to 5 days.

As for eggnog, the recipe I use is cooked so there shouldn't be any problem with that.

@tjo804 you're right, pregnancy has gotten a lot more complicated!
