Any Home Bakers Here?

Lol thats funny. Lol they always seem to think daddy is on their side more then mommy side lol.

Lol well at my house it is because daddy let's them get away with anything. "Oh this ball is only 5 dollars and she really likes balls. Yes she has tons of balls, but not a purple ball, she wants a purple ball." :/ It isn't even about the ball, but I am terrified when it becomes shoes...

she now doesnt like butter on toast why.

My cousins lost their father at about that age, I think the boy was 10 or 11, daughter 8ish. But point is they do pretty good for themselves. They still have some demons, I think it is unavoidable when you loose a parent, especially while young. But they do alright. He is a foreman for a construction company, she happily married stay at home mom.
I think the real damage happens when the parents choose to leave, not made to leave.
yes I believe that is true....the turmoil that comes with that...bitterness and all

@LittleLakePhil Congrats on having a new grand baby soon and nice to see such a proud dad! It sounds like your son has done pretty amazing!

My two cents for Christmas birthdays. My birthday is three days after Christmas and I hate it. No one was ever able to come (we didn't do big birthday parties, but not even grandparents). The weather always kept the roads too icy or family was out of town, I was given Christmas stuff or, my favorite [insert sarcasm] was the joint Christmas and birthday gift! Which usually ended up being the same thing everyone else got for Christmas, but for me it counted for both for some reason. Everyone is broke by the end of December, not that the cost of the gift matters, but something is nice! And to see your brother get stuff and being obviously thought about in his birthday, but you get nothing is really hard for a kid. My suggestion to people with kids born in December, especially Christmas week, is to celebrate on their half birthdays once they get older and then just have a cake to mark their actual birthday. Friends can come on their half birthday, the weather will be better and the day can be about them. I had a big talk with my husband, my birthday is already not a happy time of year for me, when we got together. I told him I didn't care if all he got me for my birthday was a card from dollar tree, but he would get me something and not just say "oh, here's your joint Christmas/birthday gift". So he knows, I did explain to him latter on that if he ever wanted to get me a gift that's more spendy, he should wait to give it to me for my birthday and buy it for me at the after Christmas sale.... My thriftiness can't stand someone paying full price

Oh man, sorry for my little rant. I will say, anyone I have met with December birthdays have felt the same. We talk about the worst birthdays, it's a club, haha. I'm sure some people may like it. Probably the ones who's parents thought ahead to do half birthdays

, but I'm sure a good family situation helps.
