Any Home Bakers Here?

Doesn't like the "wimpy" hot peppers I guess.

Uh oh. That means the English muffins I made Tuesday don't count!!!
I did make a loaf of KA basic sourdough last night.
She does not like the flavor of them. Luckily we live in an Hispanic community, over 50% so it is easy to find a good variety of peppers here.

I actually did too but not regular meals in the rotation.

I was about 12 when started baking bread.

My Mom wanted her sons to be self sufficient. An Uncle of mine nearly starved when my Grandma went on vacation so we learned some sewing, cooking, laundry and etc. from an early age.

It worked! All three of us are very self sufficient LOL!

I have been cooking since I was twelve (12) years old.

My mom had us all learning to cook as soon as we could pull a chair up to the stove and stir the spaghetti sauce - we are actually german and dutch, not italian, lol. She died when I was 10 and by the age of 12 I was making complete meals and desserts and all that stuff. I had 2 older sisters and we did a rotation - with me doing more than my share. My oldest sister isn't much of a cook ... and I have always loved to cook.

My sister has a photo of her little boy standing on a chair at the stove stirring the pot and all he is wearing is his diaper and a big smile. She has another photo of him vacuuming in the same attire - I wonder if that kid ever wore clothes, lol. Of course, once he grew older he stopped helping with the housekeeping - but at least she knows he can cook and won't starve if he ever moves out on his own (he is now 27 years old and still living with them).

My Mom is Irish and German. My Dad thought he was mostly German with some Irish and French. He was more Irish though according to my Ancestry DNA test.

my grandmother was an "Out of MY kitchen" cook---so my mother made sure all of us had the basics, or more if inclined. My son and daughter can both cook a damn good meal!

My daughter is a good cook.

While she was in high school she told us "if you can read you can cook".

Too a point she is right.

Both of my granddaughters cook.

I worked with the oldest one to make scratch biscuits.

The youngest one is trying to learn how to make bread.

I told her to pull up backyardchickens.com That I was sure you all would help her.

She will be sixteen in November.
