Looks like a brown recluse to me, did you squash it? BR spiders look particularly ugly to me. Some spiders are beautiful, but a BR? Just no.

It looks more like a hobo spider to me but I would smash it too!

Its a giant house spider (UK). They are closly related to the Hobo spider.

DH caught it under that glass and let it go outside. We had another smaller one run across the living room last night.

A big harvestmen spider scared me half to death the other day too.

Its spider time of year.

DH caught it under that glass and let it go outside. We had another smaller one run across the living room last night.

A few weeks ago, I had been outside and was on my way back into the house with something breakable in my hand (probably a glass of water). As I unlocked the door, I had the horrifying feeling of something crawling up my neck and onto my face/ear. As badly as my body wanted to freak out, I was able to get the door open and set down the breakable thing before gently (but quickly) brushing a Daddy Long Leg spider off of me. I don't mind most spiders, but that crawling sensation is TERRIBLE!

Oops! Here is my contribution:
I made Topsy Turvy Cupcakes last night. My cream cheese wasn't fully room temperature, apparently, so the mixture was lumpy and runny. They're still good, even if they look like moldy cupcakes! They taste even better this morning.

Eww yup agree its an awful feeling.
My pig (guinea) sheds are full of spiders and webs. I'm so relieved to get changed into my pjs after feeding and shutting them up for the night. Makes you feel itchy icky .

But! I'll take spiders over wasps any day.
