I am so happy we finally got some rain this spring, last year the drought was so bad we had the highest forest fire warning level there is in March , it was so dangerous you were forbidden to even enter a forest , we have a lot of mono culture ( pine) they can handle drought better than most other trees, but also burn heavily when they catch on fire usually, it starts in May or June

Last weekend I was busy doing some baking. There were ripe bananas, so that was the route to take. I used @Aria 's recipe for banana bread.
I did double the recipe quantity again. Of course I do like to experiment.. The difference with this bake,,,, The nuts,,, a combination of walnuts, and pecans, were chopped , and then toasted in a skillet in butter, and sugar. Half of the quantity went into the dough. Other half was sprinkled on top.
Ready for oven

Out of oven..

One stayed at home,,,, Other went with a family member.

The applesauce is what caused the problem.

Didn’t last time. Last time I did this it jelled up just fine, but thanks.

(edit to add: Just grabbed the leftover filling out of the fridge and it set up fine so it was probably just not enough time out of the oven before we cut it)
