Any Home Bakers Here?

Hi guys,

I had an idea for a science experiment involving baking. I’m still doing research on this, but I’m not coming up with much, which is why I came here to ask everyone’s opinion on it.

Here’s my question. Is it possible to use pickled vegetables as a substitute for regular vegetables in almost any recipe?

My personal hypothesis is yes, but you would have to find a way to remove all the pickling liquid from the pickled vegetable, making it taste less sour.

I might try this out, and see if there is a way to use pickled vegetables in place of regular vegetables.

It’s just an experiment.

What do you guys think? Is this possible?
If you are thinking that is a good way to store more veggie? I personally would eat
them and would store other veggies in the Freezer. That is ME. Veggies are good
eitherway. Aria

If you rub the outside of the pots with dishwashing liquid before cooking over a fire the black soot washes right off.
:eek:Wish we'd known this 30 years ago!

If they were well drained and the flavor went with rest of the recipe, I'd think you could. I would guess that there might be some instances that you might do it once, and decide not to do it again. But it's an interesting idea.

Let us know if you do this.

Had my family here for 2 weeks, and now am making „rounds“ , first my 89 year old parents in law , then I went to the hospital, will get my first hip replaced on the last day of August, will probably be out of commission for a few days 😥 , right now I am visiting my 81 year old aunt and on the weekend I’ll be visiting my cousin on her 50. birthday, and then it’s back home, getting everything ready for 4 weeks of absence 😬 6 days hospital and 3 weeks of rehabilitation
Oof, that's quite a schedule! Best wishes with all that, esp. the new hip! A speedy recovery to you! :hugs

Jared, my favorite campfire recipe is diced potatoes and onions with butter and salt, wrapped in two layers of aluminum foil, left in the coals while you go hiking or fishing for about an hour. Unwrap, add s&p and enjoy. (Use lots of butter!)
Another favorite of Scout foods camping. We called them FOIL PACKS... Used to add some ground beef into that pack. Others chose chicken meat,, and others also tried fish filets .

Went camping last night. I actually had a question for all of you.

Anyone got any good campfire recipes? I’m just curious.

Also found this growing at the campsite.

Usually hard to find, sometimes when you find a four-leaf clover you might find a five- or six-leaf clover as well.

Very good find.

I am sorry I still mourn for loss.

Thanks.

She was the calmist we have ever seen her at the vet.

She layed on his lap so peacefully.

We both felt that she knew what was going on.

He said he felt her relax when the vet gave her the first part of the medication.

I was really proud of him as he did real good.
