I would love to have your problems, leftovers!!! I think I don’t have them since the boys were teenagers! I now only have 2 males to “feed” ( and me, of course) but they eat just as much as 6 people ( i really cook 6 portion recipes) and on the weekend the girls turn up, and they can eat a lot too, and don’t get me started when we get visitorsView attachment 3628426
Made two 50% whole wheat sourdough pizza crusts today and baked them at 450 for 8 minutes. When cool, bagged and put in freezer for next Pizza Friday Night. Also have a white SD slow-rising in the fridge overnight to bake tomorrow.
I am grounded from cooking entrees and such due to too many leftovers in the fridge till they all get eaten, sigh. Maybe I will make eclairs again tomorrow. Or ravioli from scratch ... (and freeze it, lol.)
It is a very good starter!@ronott1

That is your sourdough starter at 400x magnification. Plenty of yeast and Lactobacillus. This particular sample was VERY active this morning.
If it is often, and especially if it is often in the winter when you can actually freeze to death, it might be worth getting some battery backup or a generator.I have no idea why the power goes out so frequently where I live.
I can hear your wallet screaming way over here!No baking today, replacing septic leech fields
Do you start off with "Be vewy, vewy quiet, I'm hunting wabbits"?I learned that rabbit hunting is harder than I previously thought
