Have you ever noticed that the things you stuff up are always the ones using the most or most expensive ingredients?

Decided to try a bread recipe out of my womans weekly cookbook. It uses 1kg of flour so almost double my usual recipe. Doing the liquid ingredients and accidentally put too much milk, so then I had to keep adding flour so it wasn't too wet. Made so much that it was going up the dough hook and over the top piece. Finally about 3 cups later got it to stop sticking to the bowl. All good put it aside to rise and went to drop my daughter at a friends house.

So I'm driving back when suddenly it occurs to me I didn't add the yeast! I got so sidetracked with the flour I forgot I hadn't added the rest of the ingredients. So I've just put it back in the mixer and mixed through the yeast which I had to guess at because I then discovered it was asking for compressed yeast and I have the granule stuff. Also had to add the salt I missed.

I suspect at some point there I should have just thrown the lot and started again but guess we will see what it ends up like

Can't wait to hear the end of the story!

It will be interesting lol

On a positive though, I bought myself one of those scraper things you see in all the YouTube videos that they cut their dough with and scrape it off the bench. Works great! After I added the yeast it started sticking to the bench again and normally that would have meant more flour, but I just kept scraping it off as I'd fold it and it stopped sticking without needing any flour!

I use one of those too, it is a really handy tool. I wish I had a bigger kitchen just so I could get more kitchen/baking stuff. I enjoy finding new things to use.

@Jesusfreak101
So we liked the poor boys, I made it the simpler way (husband does not care for too much heat either) I would have liked it spicier, but it was still very good. DH declared it a make again meal So success!
@NorthFLChick We have lots of challah bread leftover, so maybe we I'll make up french-frogs toast tomorrow!

Anybody got a good rhubarb recipe? I've just picked a heap out of the garden and you can only eat so much over ice cream. I made a rhubarb loaf a while back but don't seem to have saved the recipe darn it.
