It's alright I just thought it was a bit sad

I understand. It is a bit sad to me also, especially since it was an accident, even though I meant to take the quail. For what it’s worth, let me try to explain something that might help.

As a hunter, I do my best to hunt ethically. This means if I’m going to take an animal I have to do my best to make sure that it is a clean kill. By this, I mean killing the animal in such a way that it does not have time to suffer and dies instantly. No matter what I hunt, this is one of the biggest goals that I as a hunter try to meet, making a clean kill.

Think of it this way. Since I “blew off its head on accident,” it did not have time to suffer. I saw it go down instantly and not move.

I hope this is comforting.

Thank you, Jared. To me, that is a hunter's second responsibility. The first is to not shoot anything you don't mean to kill. Like another hunter, someone's dog, etc.

But any animal you take deserves a clean shot. So, thank you again.

Oh YEAH!!! Even bread that "doesn't turn out right" tastes better than store bought.
