Any Home Bakers Here?

I made chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting for my mom's birthday
Also a big thank you to @Aria for the recipe
It's my first time trying it, I'll try to post a picture on here tomorrow

This is a chocolate cake with Vinegar:
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar ( I use 1 cup)
2/3 cup cocoa
1 tsp salt
2 tsps baking soda
Mix in a bowl these ingredients,,, hand no mixer needed.
Make 3 holes one hole 2 tsps vinegar l egg 2 tsps vinalla
number 2 hole: 2 cups water (I use coffee) 3rd hole: 2/3 cup oil
Mix bake 350 oven 40 minutes
Note: you can make 9 x 13 sheet cake or cup cakes or 2 8inch layer cake
Use your favorite frosting. This cake is moist and delicious..and can be frozen. Enjoy Aria

Oooops.. I just see that you posted recipe well above. Don't know how that slipped past me :confused:
 
That seems allot like a cake that Grandma user to make.
Was not always chocolate ? Not sure have look Federal Cake?
The vinegar reacts with the baking soda so you do not have to use buttermilk. It is a less expensive way to make a good cake and was popular in the Depression Era. It makes sense that it was like a grandma cake, especially since we are the same age and our Grand parents were likely Depression Era survivors!
