Any Home Bakers Here?

I never want to move again. For our last move we only moved around 100 miles away not to another state. I am a former realtor and put a sign in front of our house and within a week we sold it. We had already bought another place. We too had to do a quick move so we put a large container on the new property and began packing and just carting the stuff to the container. We were packing so fast and I wanted to sort through stuff but we decided to just get it moved and sort it out at the new place. Many years later there is still stuff I haven't gone through. Hubby was retired but I was working and was able to transfer at work to a place at the new location. Good luck with your move and have a few cookies.

If you haven't needed or missed the container stuff - why not have a surprise yard sale and open it up the morning of the sale.

DH and I have only moved once since we married and took EVERYTHING to the new house ---- most is still in the attic or in trunks. Wish I had the motivation to pack everything in those and just cart it off to goodwill.

People I have known who move frequently have much less clutter than the rest of us.

Hope you do take a little time out to bake those cookies - you have been working so, so hard, and a break is due.

Two weeks, "a piece of cake" for you gal, I have seen what you can accomplish and know you will get it done on time with your son's help.

Thanks my friend, I appreciate the vote of confidence. Now a piece of cake, hmmm, that would be appreciated too, lol.

Thank you cmom! I think everyone has a "horror" story about moving, lol.

some bb sauce sounds good on a pound cake!

For some reason I read that as bbq sauce. Ha, I think I'll pass and just eat mine plain!

Two weeks ago DH found out he got a job in Wyoming. We put our house on the market and now have a contract on an offer. He left yesterday with a rental truck full of our house stuff while I finish packing the house. For anyone thinking they might like to pack up their entire house and move in 2 weeks...I don't recommend it, lol. It's been 100% crazy here.

My son is coming from out of state to help me in about a week and he does love chocolate chip cookies, so maybe I'll be able to slow down enough to do something in the kitchen other than grab a quick snack.

How exciting!

How exciting!

I'm going to have to read up on baking at high altitudes, I've never had to learn before. The place we're going has an elevation of over 6,800'...where we are now the elevation is only about 16'. Quite a change, lol.

But yes, exciting!
