Another fresh pasta experience - Fettuccini - served with a Mushroom Garlic Sauce - turned out exceptionally well.

And IMO a lot easier than the extruder. Used a KitchenAid roller and cutter for these:

For the sauce adapted this recipe: http://www.food.com/recipe/pasta-with-mushroom-garlic-sauce-11808

This was the first time I used Parsley IN a recipe - always thought of it as just a garnish. Bought fresh Italian large leaf parsley - added it to the reheated sauce until wilted and it added color and flavor.
Where did you get your pasta hanger? I think it is time to give up the hangers and the news paper on the table!!!

I couldn't find my usual sourdough pancake recipe this morning so I'm trying a new one. When I added the dry ingredients to the starter and eggs, it got foamy like. The recipe said it would make light pancakes. We will see. Hubby is cooking some sausage, squash and potatoes so I have to wait to get to the stove.

Amazon - it's a Westmark and of the 3 brands that look exactly alike it was the lowest price :) The transfer wand was stuck in the top, guess it was pushed in too far during shipping? But DH was able to get it out with a small pair of vice grips after I wrapped the tip with duct tape. I thought it was broken - but realized in the transfers the 1/2 round is to slide over the arms of the rack

It does fold up somewhat but still will be a challenge to find somewhere to hang it up. I saw a youtube video where someone placed a long thin board under a microwave - a yardstick would be perfect, cheap and easy to store?
I have an old pasta maker but I think I'll get an extruder for my KitchenAid. That looks great...

I bought both the extruder and the roller and cutters - used the roller and fettuccini cutter for this project. IMO the roller is worth it - quick and easy to get the dough thin. The extruder is a little "temperamental" about the dough consistency, but loads of fun to use.

Foamy? Or just a lot of bubbles. I have only made sourdough waffles but it bubbles amazingly when the ingredients are added. Hope the pancakes turned out well :)

I haven't have any luck with the extruder on my Kitchenaid. Love the pasta roller and cutter set, though. I still have some little pasta nests in the freezer that need to be used up.

The pancakes turned out great. I stirred it down. It needed a wee bit of flour to get it to the right consistency. Hubby had stuck my last pick of blueberries for this year in the fridge. I took them out and added them. YUM.

Sounds yum! Reminds me need to organise some pots for my blueberries before spring. They are not happy at all in our soil so going to try them in pots and hope for an actual blueberry this year.

I'm in the middle of pumpkin scones take 2 at the moment. Just waiting for the mash to cool!

I just live vicariously through this thread.  I can smell them, I can taste them, I've got the butter out.... drool.

Here ya go

Slight improvement on the last batch lol

I made them a lot bigger than I normally do too after seeing some scones from the bakery. Will be interesting to see if they turn out lovely and soft or soggy in the middle because of their size.
