Any Home Bakers Here?

I think I'll try making another loaf of bread tomorrow... I need to do it on a day Zach gets home early so he can feed it when he gets home, then when I get home it's fed and ready to go.

Could you feed your starter and then immediately add it to the rest of the bread stuff? I understand it would take longer to get the first rise, but would that work? Rather than feeding, waiting 2 hours, mixing everything up, letting rise for half an hour, then squishing and letting rise again for another half hour and cooking. It's that 1st 2 hour wait that gets to me...

I also made a crust for a deep dish pizza. I pre-baked it for 10 minutes, and will put on the toppings and finish baking it once I know what time Hubs will be home. Between the pizza and the homemade bread, I am going to be a hero around here today! ;)

We're having homemade pizza tonight for dinner too! We like the thin crust, it turns out so well on a baking stone :drool

Most recipes will work fine that way. I usually take the starter out at dinner and mix in 1\2C of flour and then at 8pm mix the sponge. The sponge sits out overnight with plastic wrap on top. The next morning I add the flour, salt and other ingredients in the recipe. That raises for a couple of hours and then shape into loaves. That raises until doubled and then baked.

Trying to find more ways to use the bread I make, so I have been making pizzas with the bread. Great snacks for watching your favorite sports shows (football, racing, etc.). You can put any topping on them.
