@irischick

Congrats on your new mixer and success with first tries. I have an older model, never even tried to do bread in it. I let my bread machine do the mixing. But there are a lot of recipes on King Arthur Flour's site….I do love their honey wheat rolls…you can make them large or small. They are soft and wonderful.

Do brag on your next trials and make me jealous.

Needed a side for Stuffed Shells on Saturday night, so I made Focaccia bread. I put olives on 1/3 for me, turns out DH likes olives. Married for 15 years and he never told me that, I thought he hated green olives so I never made anything with them in it. I hate black olives so those are not even in the house... the power of she who shops.

Nice one!

Duh….what is Focaccia Bread?? Will have to Google that one.

Personally cannot stand green olives….but have learned to love the black ones ---- Mexican dishes..yum.

My DH does the menus, shopping and THE COOKING! I just bake for fun.

ADD: Looked it up and sounds wonderful.

Hey there baking buds! I've been out of town for a couple weeks and see where you all have been talking and baking without me. What did I miss...wonderful stuff I'm sure. It's going to take me a bit to catch up on my BYC reading but it is soooo good to be back home with our little farm, the chickens (of course) and everyone here!

Here is what we have left, just under 2/3. All the bread with the olives is gone. The garlic-parmesan topping turned out good but I forgot to put a little olive oil on it before baking..

Glad you are back.

Wow that looks delicious.

For breakfast, I diced up a little of the focaccia, toasted it in a fry pan with onions, tomato and ham. Beat two eggs with a little milk, salt, pepper, a touch of basil and poured it into the pan. Stirred it all together. Covered it and cooked it on low for a couple of minutes, flipped it and cooked till the eggs were done. It was really good! but I could have made it better with just a little parmesan on top.

Yum! I've never made focaccia, but need to! It's so yummy! And with olives on top! Yum! Green olives, garlic and some rosemary, that would be amazing!

I have only made it with buttermilk.

Funny that you ask…I wanted to make them for yesterday, but didn't have any buttermilk…so didn't make them..:(

Never tried the vinegar + milk sub.

I made the waffles Sunday! They were amazing, but didn't taste very sourdoughey (

I just made that a word! Lol!). I'm leaving the start out one more week. The waffles were still amazing! My husband loves them
