500-1,000 Trick or Treaters?!?

Yah, it's crazy. We live in the largest neighborhood in our town and all the streets have side walks and street lights, so lots of people come from surrounding areas to trick or treat here. We don't even close the front door, we just leave it open and sit on the front steps. My son loves it! He loves handing out things to all the kids and the little preteen girls gush about how cute he is. Lol. We have to park our cars on the street halloween morning so friends will have a place to park. It gets crazy. But some neighbors have projectors and play halloween movies and others have tents set up with hot chocolate and water they give out, so it's a lot of fun and all the adults keep an eye on the kids and make sure cars are driving slow.

We are already done eating our second bag of Halloween Candy

No trick or treat kids out in our area. The houses are too rural, they all go to town. One year I bought candy and gave it to my friend who lived in town to give out, so hey, at least I tried to participate.

Only the second bag ? I think we're on the 4th or 5th.

Our neighborhood used to have a hayride and bring the kids around all at one time - really scary to see 60-80 running across the lawn. But now, they all have parties or trunk-n-treats to go to. So expect no one this year.

I think we should ALL go to Alice's neighborhood for Halloween!

We'd have 250-300 because we were in a safe neighborhood.
Thankfully it died down It was breaking us. My husband hated to give out candy he didn't like, so m&ms and snickers...
One year when we were home schooling we had a marker board and tallied girls, boys, approximate ages and did some statistical analysis.

Man, looking back. I took the fun out of everything.
But that was kind of neat to see the mean ages.
and he had fun with the tallies, until the next day and we broke out the math books.

LOL, I've never heard of anyone taking such detailed info on their treaters. Do you remember any of the info you gathered?

(I never gave out candy I didn't like either. It just didn't seem right somehow. Besides, what if you don't have enough kids come around...then you're stuck with candy you don't like!)
