Thanks for sharing the results! What time should I be there for dinner?

LOL, that pork roast I fixed in the crock pot yesterday was huge enough to feed a small army so drop on by!

Ding ding ding! We have a winner!

That's some good stuff there Joe, I think DH will be very pleased. I like it a lot, very flavorful, enough heat to make it interesting, not sugary.

I did toss in a bit of granulated garlic per your PM. I also used smoked paprika (not the sweet paprika) and instead of plain salt, I used some smoked salt I have on hand.

This will be perfect on our pork sandwiches tonight. The seeded buns rising now and the pork was cooked yesterday, cole slaw done too. It's going to be a great dinner!

Thank you BBQJoe

Whoa, that's a lot of food to prepare. Is there anyone that could bring some of it, or help cook some of it?

I started feeling overwhelmed just reading it, lol.

My husband will cook the chickens and help, but it will just be us cooking. My dad is coming from oregon, my husbands parents are supposedly coming for dinner, but it's one of those Ill believe it when I see it and a friend and his son might be coming too. I'm sure someone will bring wine or something, but we will be doing all the food. That's why I'm thinking I should do desserts and bread the day before.

My Thanksgiving meltdown is starting early this year. I just vacuumed the whole house, washed all the windows and cleaned the bathrooms. I still have two weeks and I'm sitting here freaking out!

Well you are welcome to come over here and clean. Everyone is comming for the first day of hunting season on sat. and my house is a disaster.

Is anyone else started to get overwhelmed with Thanksgiving? Apparently my husband and son have been planning the "thanksgiving feast" and I was writing down what the dinner menu was this morning and I got some surprise add ins. This is the menu and I refuse to let them add in more!
2chickens (I hate turkey... I went over this last year on the thread

Yams, applesauce, carrots, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, peas, corn on the cob, challah bread, chocolate khulua cheesecake, pumpkin pie and whipped cream. I figure the cheesecake, bread and pumpkin pie I'll cook the day before. I might cook the pumpkin tuesday, so Wednesday I just have to make the pie. Everything else I think we have to do that day and the whipped cream we will do just before we eat so my son isn't too tempted to sneak some! Lol. We are only going to have 6-8 people, so I'm guessing there will be leftovers! I work Wednesday, so figure I can just make the cheesecake, pumpkin pie and bread during the day and clean while the kids nap. I might do some wheat bread for the kids to bring home too because they all love when we make bread!
You can prepare the pumpkin pies very early, get them ready to cook but don't cook and freeze them, then cook them Wednesday night. I had read about this and have proven you cannot tell those you freeze from the fresh made and baked. They can be frozen a month, I think.
