Not a prob. You could use your oven at its lowest setting to dehydrate. I think ovens go down to about 170 deg.

It took me forever to find the dehydrator I wanted because I wanted variable temps. you can dehydrate fruits and veggies lower than meats but I did finally find one at a decent price at Cabellas

I still have a bit from last year that I am still using I like the fresh eggs because I like over easy and DH likes sunny side up those I have not tried to dehydrate. so I stop using when eggs pick up again.

I dont have a time line because I am not sciencey. I dehydrate the garden and we usually dont have much left over of anything to say it gets old or gross after so long.

But you would say they generally would last you a year. That is perfect! I have always wanted a dehydrated but could never justify one, besides it just sounded fun. Thank you!

Ooh, Cabellas! I used to go to their humongous store in KC every chance I got. Which is saying something for Cabellas because I'm not a shopper. They had so many cool things, everything from outdoor stuff to interior décor and of course clothes. They had a big aquarium that you could walk through and a room-size diorama with deer. I liked their old country store section and the cooking stuff was fun. Man, I miss that store!

Cabellas! Perfect!

Most bacteria are killed at temps between 145 and 160 deg F.
dehydrating is a safe way to store many food items so I just decided if our service men and women can eat powdered eggs my family could too.

They work great for baking.

Yes they do
and I am glad I had left overs from last year since this summer I have lost 7 of my layers to predators (single attack) and one to egg laying issue.
