Basically add 1.5 cups water to cooker, add a trivet and set the pumpkin in. Pressure time is 13 minutes for a sweet pie pumpkin. They rest for 10 minutes after turning off the cooker.

The stem, seeds and skin fall off and then you puree with 1\4 cup of water or so depending on the puree consistency you want

Thanks for input, I have 3 in the oven now.

I cooked one in the oven a couple of weeks ago. It was a sweet pie pumpkin. 350 in the oven, cut in half and not pealed. Olive oil on the skin. On a foil lined baking sheet, skin side up. Since these are small pumpkins, it took closer to 40 minutes. You cook until it is fork tender. Don't get too caught up in cooking time. When it is done it is done LOL. Sometimes is takes longer and some times it is a shorter time.

It has to do with the pumpkin and the oven temps

Will keep an eye on them, was expecting 90 minutes.

I do that with butternuts that the chooks are getting.

Roasted is tasty, I roast pumpkin for pumpkin soup. If I was going to make puree, I'd probably do it in the pressure cooker.

To cut it you need a big, heavy, sharp knife. With a decent knife, it is easy, without it, it's a nightmare.

Surprisingly was able to cut these without a saw this time, likely they are a lot fresher than those used in my past failure. Wish I had waited to hear about a pressure cooker, oh well, next time :)

That looks a lot easier - the clean out was the hardest part:)

Not mine... darn thing takes almost an hour on high heat just to build pressure and start cooking properly...
This one goes on top of the stove and heats up quickly depending on how high the burner is set
