Any Home Bakers Here?

A person at work refuses to eat deserts that have milk products in them if they have been out more that 2 hours. There is a warning about that too.

Cream cheese frosting? Only two hours and then it has to be tossed?

Oh the horror!
 
I never liked raw eggs, but raw eggs in cookie dough :drool
I know! I had some yesterday. It is one of my favorite things to eat. I also line to under cook the cookies. I am living on the edge is seems

I made sourdough waffles this am, they were awesome. Tried a pancake but it was undercooked.....ate it anyway - should I call 911?
My Youngest DD went to a Cafe for breakfast with her boyfriend on Friday. She had pancakes there...after having sourdough and yeast raised pancakes her whole life. She asked me by people even bothered eating those things when they can have ones like we make.

But seriously, how do you get cream cheese to room temp for baking with if it shouldn't be out on the counter for longer than 2 hours?

Speaking of baking (aren't we always?), I have a small loaf of bread rising in the brotform now...keeping my fingers crossed it has those cool-looking ridges around it! :fl

I had read that cakes with cream cheese have to be refrigerated and brought out to room temp before eating...we have left ours out for days and no problem yet....

But a good number of years ago my favorite peanut butter was off the market because salmonella was found in their peanut processing plant :( Thank goodness they got clearance to restart production.

Hope your bread turns out....I'm fixing ( in the south this means about to do) to make olive sourdough bread.
 
I guess I'm in the living dangerous club too. Drink raw milk, eat farm fresh room temperature eggs, taste my flour and eat raw dough. But then again, with the exception of my bread and all purpose flour, I know the person who grew the grain, that I grind into flour.

I guess I can understand putting the finished cake in the fridge (not that we ever do) but you have to get the brick of cream cheese to room temperature before you can mix it with powdered sugar, etc.

Seems strange to me :idunno (ha, got to use the re-introduced smiley).

"Fixing to" means the same where I grew up too :D
