okay foiled gingerbread challenged here changing my name....
1/3 cup shortening
1 c brown sugar packed
1 1/2 c molasses
7 cups flour measure by dipping method by sifting
2 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp allspice
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
chill dough bake 350.. got it out of fridge dough is like a brick cannot roll.. tastes right but dry as a bone crumbly HELP....................................................

Double check on the shortening amount. It is probable way less than it should be for 7 cups of flour
 
Never Mind! I found the problem--should have 2/3 cup of water. This is Betty Crocker recipe--newer than yours because this recipe has **** the salt
