Any Home Bakers Here?

I love my Kitchen Aid mixer. And I especially like the color of it...one year KA made them in pink and $50 of the purchase price was donated to the Susan G. Komen cancer research fund. It's been the best investment for me and I liked the idea that the donation was involved (having had several friends with breast cancer).
That is awesome! I love mine too but mine is white.

okay back from taking the kid to SS office getting some nonsense they sent also went to the kitchen store looking at a new stand mixer.. I have a 30's vintage sunbeam mixmaster I have used ever since I was a kid it is bogging down starting to do any bread or cakes Was looking at kitchen aid 350.00 minimum the smaller ones are under powered.. ETA: One of those side benefits of all those nights away from home.

I know that was addressed to @sfgwife but had to say thanks for reminding me of those Bob...my mom used to make the dates like you describe for Christmas, always one of my favorites!
It was the same here. Always had them for Christmas also. They are so good and so easy to make.

Are you talking about where you pit a whole date, replace the seed with a pecan, close it up and roll it in sugar?

Mever had em that way. But omg i am for sure gonna try it! I love dates. I florida i could buy fresh dates in a market i went to. And i miss that a lot. These are butter, sugar, chopped dates all cooked. Then add crushed rice crispies. Make balls while still hot and roll in powdered sugar.

rjohns, This IS THE HEALTHY BREAD....SUPER. YOU USED
how many cups Whole Wheat? Or all whole wheat? AP cups?
Please post the exact amount. I do NOT eat white breads and my
husband does not eat whole grains. I am ready to bake your recipe
...thanks. Aria

I used Debby's #5980 Recipe
6 1/2 Cups Whole Red Wheat Flour
1 1/2 TBS Yeast (maybe closer to 2)
1 1/2 TBS Salt
5 Cups Hot Water
I let it rise for about 3 hours, then plucked off a 3rd and worked it into a ball. Put it in a bowl with parchment paper, covered with a warm moist towel and set the timer for 40 minutes. Same time put the dutch oven in the oven and turned on at 450*

When the timer went off, I put parchment and dough in the dutch oven, and sealed the lid. In for 30 minutes, uncover and remove parchment, then back in for 10 more minutes.

Next time I make it, I'm going to add 3TBS honey and 1TBS Molasses and see what the results are.

rjohns, THANKS. I am ready. Have appointments today.
Will be making The Healthy Artisian Bread SOON> Thanks again,
Aria
The nice thing is that the bread is healthy and tasty. Healthy food does not have to be bland and taste like card board!
