Any Home Bakers Here?

Have you ever tried to use a silpat for toffee? I used it for peanut brittle, and boy did it spread... The buttered pan batches turned out pretty thick in comparison.
I was going to for brittle, but chickened out in the last minute and went to wax paper. Now I wish I'd have kept my nerve.:oops:

I've had my share of the "reality" ones :lau
I had a failure a couple of days ago with a peach upside down cake. It wasn't quite done so the center fell shortly after taking it out of the oven. Oh my the gooeyness of it was wonderful.

Lol. Yes, I've certainly had some duds along the way, as well.

On the holiday baking fails, the reality Christmas fruit tree made me think of Charlie Brown's Christmas tree (not quite as bad), and I had to laugh at "ninja bread cookies" - I don't really see what ninjas have to do with Christmas, but to each his own...

So. Had take mama to her doc appt. daughter in law was here so i asked could they put my bread in the oven for me. Gave her the temp and an approx time. But also said... it will be quite brown amd firm on top amd when you thump it it sounds hollow. ...... my beautiful loaves of bread has a sad streaky hole now. :(. They took it out too soon and the middle wasnt done. Boo! So now i have maybe a half of a loaf that is usable out of two. Guess i will be makin nread again tomorrow. :eek::idunno
