Any Home Bakers Here?

It was pretty good. Maybe a little too dense. The recipe was flawed a little bit...They listed the buttercream ingredients in with the cake ingredients, and then listed them again on the buttercream list. :hmm. And if I was making a full size, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be 2 cups of Butter and 4 cups of powdered sugar. Not lbs.

ohhhhhhh fall over good huh

that is a big problem with blog posts and other internet recipes that are not tested. One suggestion I read to avoid this is to use epicurious or a magazine site that tests the recipes before posting them.
I agree that many (too many) bloggers don't do their do diligence.... But there are some others that are really spectacular!
I love love love all things Smitten Kitchen and the cakes on Call Me Cupcake look swoon worthy and (from what I have tried so far) they taste good too!

Sally's Baking Addiction is another good one. I've gotten some really great recipes from her.

I have cheese!

It is 2.3 pounds from 2 gallons of milk. It has to dry for several days and then I get to paint it with wax. It will be cheddar cheese in 60 days.
