Thanks for the recipe!
Limburger is listed as one of the top ten stinkiest cheeses. I used to like it on dark rye or pumpernickel but haven't seen any in the stores I frequent in many years. It came in a small jar and was spreadable.I've never tried it, soBut maybe?
Grandma belonged to a cheese club, I was introduced to it on pumpernickel and once you got past the smell it was good.Limburger is listed as one of the top ten stinkiest cheeses. Floyd wanted to try limburger cheese....he heard so much about it.My Grandpa was a butcher, unfortunately he passed before I was even born. My Dad tells us that they always had Limburger cheese hanging in the back porch - and that is as far as Grandma would allow it into the house.![]()
I can’t remember the last time I did this, but it does get you out of a tight situation!
Brown sugar recipe
1 C white sugar
1 Tb molasses
Combine the sugar and molasses in a mixing bowl and then mix with a whisk beater attachment (a fork will work as well, it just might take a little longer) until it combines. Initially, it won't look like it's going to work, but it will. When it is light and fluffy, it is done. If there are a few little spots of molasses in the mix in the end, that is fine. Store in an airtight container.
I did have a pouring shield and it was good. It fit my old mixer though.<sigh> I need friends. You guys will have to do.
KitchenAid accessories have rotten reviews because they have switched to plastic. The covers getting bad reviews is interesting (bad stitching, too short and/or too tight), but I am getting one regardless. It’s the shield I’m going nuts about. I’ve found other brands that hook onto the bowl. One is even metal. The issue is that they don’t surround the bowl like the KA.
So, my BYC peeps, do you have/like the newer plastic non-gripping pouring shield?
