I made knock you naked brownies and I have a pork roast in the instant pot for supper. I thought I wrecked my pot the other night. I put steak and cream of mushroom soup in there and made a trip out to the coop to take care of cats and chickens. When I got back in I saw gravy coming out of it and steam coming out the bottom. I forgot to put the gasket in the cover :he I quick unplugged it. Hubby took it all apart so I could clean it. Thank goodness it did not get on any of the parts! Seems to be working ok:fl

I did not come up with it :gigDevils food cake mix, evaporated milk, butter, pecans, chocolate chips and caramels. I had to google a recipe as I apparently didn’t save mine. I had to adjust the recipe a little as caramel bag went from 14oz to 11oz. so less evaporated milk.

The biggest problem with stuff like that is scorching the insert pot!

I have done that with a marinara recipe--The recipe sometimes does not work if using less juicy canned diced tomatoes.

I have it figured out now.

Yes, they make a point to tell you that you must have enough water in it so it doesn't go dry. The instant pot is still in the "trying to learn it" stage here. I was making Pasta Fagioule the other night and I couldn't find my can of navy beans, so I pulled out the instant pot and cooked some up! It worked good, but no-where could I find how much water for 1 1/2 c. dry navy beans. I had to ladle them out of the leftover water because I made navy bean soup, lol!
But it turned out all right as my pasta soaked up all the liquid for the soup so I added the bean water to make it soupy again.

Since the instant pot is very good at not losing steam, less water is needed for beans.

For a pound of beans, I use a bit less than 5 cups of water. Normally I would use 6 cups.
