Any Home Bakers Here?

TO POACH AN EGG Put about 1/2 inch of water in a frying pan. Add 1 teaspoon of white vinegar and bring to a simmer - do not let the water come to a boil. Crack the egg into a small bowl. lower the bowl to just above the water level and tip the egg into the simmering water. Cover and cook for 4 minutes - do not let the water boil. I turn the heat down to the lowest setting after adding the eggs.
What’s the reason for the vinegar?
 
I have this little useless pan as we never have poached egg think it is a mental break

I just made a batch of Toilet Bombs.
1 cup baking soda
1/4 cup natural citric acid
1/2 tablespoon of white vinegar
1 tablespoon hydrogen perioxide
1 tablespoon Dawn
30-40 drops of essential oil (jasmine)
Mixed in a bowl....put in plastic about 1 teaspoon molds
(I made 2 silicone molds and one plastic ice cube tray)
I let them dry overnight and then place in pretty glass jars in the bathroom. Aria
