Any Home Bakers Here?

We drove 3 hours to a trout farm for smoked trout, turkey and all the trimmings. No leftovers from that, but... I bought a smoked turkey last week. Divided it last night into sections and will have all the leftovers we could possibly want - best of both worlds! :lau

That's a great way of doing things!

I see you're in SE MO, are you any where close to Branson? I lived in NE KS for many years and your part of the country was one we always enjoyed visiting. So pretty around there.

Last night I learned the easiest and fastest way to spatchcock a turkey .... start with a fully- cooked bird! :gigIt was my intent to divide the smoked turkey down the middle last night so it would heat faster today. Then Google convinced me to do it the Latin way instead. I thought I would see how far I could get even lacking kitchen shears and decide if I needed to add them to my shopping list. But as soon as I grabbed a thigh and pulled on it, it practically came off in my hand. Yay! I proceeded to dismantle the bird pretty much with my bare hands and a sharp knife, and learned a lot about avian anatomy in the process! You just can't do that with either a raw or a hot bird. ;) Happy leftovers, y'all! (I'm sorry you don't have any, @R2elk !)
