Any Home Bakers Here?

I am inclined to agree that it looks like jicama but all the ones on the youtube recipe channels aren't lobed like mine are/were. Boiled the small one for 1.5 hours thinking we could make a sugar beet syrup, however, it didn't work. All of these from the Mexican fruit/veggie marts brought to a popular intersection near me were lobbed.

When I did a search for jicama images online, this was one image that came up:

Recipes I saw for it were for things like salsa, fries, slaw, etc.

Yes the fries seem to look the best, we are going to try to salvage our 1.5 hour boiled one later and see how fries do as it still has good texture. I'm thinking olive oil, quick chili mix plus a healthy dose of black pepper and salt then bake.

For the next one I will make it a point to muscle in on DW's prep table and sample it raw.
