Cream of tartar is used in play dough. It’s the only reason I keep it around.
Cream of tarter is also in angel food cake and the meringue I made for the lemon pie

I always have it in my spice cabinet

I have baking powder no aluminum but did not know I could do it from scratch
always good to know in pinch thanks @BullChick
It is a substitute for baking powder but is not quite the same.

I read a history of baking powder and when they started selling it commercially, most people quit making there own because the commercial was better

See, I don't have baking powder in the house, so I would end up buying self rising flour or baking powder, both would sit around until used.

I would buy the baking powder as you can get a very small container related to a bag of flour. The baking powder should be a nominal fee.

See I buy now no aluminum but honestly did not know there had ever had it in it
Apparently baking soda does have it, because if you look at natural deodorants they all say "no aluminum (baking soda)" or something along those lines. Apparently the baking soda is rough on some people's skin.

All of this talk of donuts and filled cupcakes has me looking at donut recipes. Found one for Boston Cream that I think I'll try.
I love BC pie and donuts!

A while back I worked on perfecting boston cream pie. I likes parts of different recipes so I combined them! Them. The cream filling is fairly fool proof too:
I don't see that recipe in the Google spreadsheet (hint hint)
