Any Home Bakers Here?

The craziness is definitely here south of you Bob. I went to the store this morning (hadn't been for a week) and it looked like it had been ravaged by pillaging hoards. Poor employees were trying to restock as quickly as they could, but they all looked exhausted. I wasn't surprised that paper towels, tp, hand soap, bread and the like was out (didn't need it anyway), but what did surprise me was no flour. Zero flour of any brand in any size bag. What's up with that, is everyone going to be making their own bread at home now? Weird.
Debby, if DH doesn't find you flour ping me in a pm. I can send you whole wheat flour if needed. But keep in mind it will have germ and hulls in it. I have hard white, hard red, and spelt. Also Rye and corn. If he can get a 25lb bag, all you need to store it is a food grade 5 gal bucket with omni lid. O2 absorber and Mylar bag is better.

We can do all things with Youtube :gig

I have plenty of yeast and about 2 lbs. of flour. I'm going to see if DH can find a bag for me up in Casper. There are more stores to check out there than we have down here.
We found some flour yesterday and picked up 10 pounds. I already had a bit under 10 pounds so we will be good for baking!

We also found bulk pinto beans and have about 3 pounds of them now too

that is a god idea too! I should still be able to get wheat berries in bulk from the co op. I have a kitchenaid flour mill attachment

Thank you very much for the offer Bob! I'll let you know. :)

Okay plug your ears if I offend we called it ... "it will make a turd" Marie calender's
pies they are okay BF said mine are much better .. he is partial
Sometime last year there was a major change in the Marie Callender frozen products. They redid everything and decreased what was in the packages and the quality of what is in the packages. It is sad that they felt the need to sacrifice quality in their quest for profitability.

Apparently it was done because Marie Callender's went into bankruptcy as was sold to another company last year.

Well I think it is a good thing I started making sourdough a few weeks ago!
Fortunately I bought the "next size up" bag of KA AP flour last time since the five pounders weren't lasting long. Turns out the "next size" was 25 pounds! I might go through it faster than I originally thought.

Yeast is reported to be in short supply too
Fortunately I have my sourdough starter so no yeast needed.

I've never bought a M. Callendar pot pie in the store, but what they serve in the restaurant is delicious.
Used to eat them a lot ... then I read the nutrition info and saw how much sodium was in those little pot pies!

I wonder if they dropped the sodium when they did that. Haven't bought one in probably well over 5 years so I don't know if I would still like them. We used to go to Marie's when I lived in Downey, CA most of the first 23 years of my life. One of the original restaurants I think. Love cherry pie!
