I can cook with them, but I've only cured regular bacon before. I imagine it would be close to the same.anyone ever cure pork hocks? also has anyone made jowl bacon?
bought half a pig/side of pork from a butcher shop maybe 2 months ago.
got the jowl and pork hocks am hoping to cure and smoke (unless someone else has an idea for them) but never before have i cooked with jowl or the hocks lol.
The hocks go great with beans, slow simmered on the stove or in the oven are the best methods in my opinion. Jowl bacon is tasty!
