Looks great as Sandwich bread @Colleen1039 Finished the sourdough English muffins
I did 6 cups ap 1 cup sourdough 2 pkg yeast 3 cups hot water 15 English muffins .. I have these rounds have no idea why they were bought but use them to cut the muffin right size
I brown them on out cast iron griddle part of the oven then bake them 400 12 minutes we have convection oven I love this is them done View attachment 2116358View attachment 2116358

Here is the one I made today looks like this one might have a bubble cause the top is really high in the middle I'll take another picture when I cut it open
Nice looking loaf. Great color. Do not understand why so many of those youtube videos of sourdough bread turn out with bottom crusts burnt to a crip. I much prefer a nice golden color like yours.

Everyone wants to bake sourdough bread at a very high temperature!

The basic technique is to pre heat a lidded dutch oven to 475 f and then put the risen dough into it. Bake for 20 minutes and take off the lid.

To keep the bottom from scorching, move the bread to a cool baking sheet and put it back into the oven that way until the top is browned to the color you want. that is usually 5 to 10 more minutes.

Those look really good!:drool Now I want to try them, but I don't have rings. Guess I'll have to go online shopping.

English muffins are cut out using biscuit cutters. Crumpets are cooked in rings

Good to know. I've even seen on KAF a recipe that called for heating the oven to 500 f for an hour before putting the bread in to bake. To me, that seems extremely wasteful. Wouldn't even consider it except on a really cold day with the heat turned off.
