Any Home Bakers Here?

Hey guys, i
That's for sure! :gigWe got the rest picked up a couple days ago, so I think those will go to applesauce and chips.

This might be a silly question, but can you wash the apples in warm soapy water? We picked a bunch off of the ground and, of course, the chickens are around pooping all over the place. Anything visibly soiled was discarded. Maybe it's not worth it?
its probably a bit late but you can use some grapefruit seed extract and a scrub brush in lieu of soap.

Debby, can I make your pizza dough tonight, refrigerate and finish in the morning?
I have baked the pizza dough to lightly browned-- kind of like blind baking a pie crust--, freezing it it and then making the pizza later.

It is good but takes a lot of freezer space

What I usually do is mix up the pizza dough in the morning and leave it out on the counter all day. It helps the dough ripen

I was doing home made bread for a long time. I found that the yeast has quite an impact on flavor. As a matter of fact when San Francisco burned 1849 - 1841 a lot of immigrant folks were killed running back to their bakeries trying to save yeast strain cultures they brought from over seas . Now comes the the part where I need my rear end kicked . I had a strain that was brought to Oregon on the Oregon trail in a covered wagon and lost it somehow I am devastated over it . I wonder if there is any yeast strain traders on here ?
