Any Home Bakers Here?

I was going down memory lane, looking at old photos on my computer. I found these, and I wanted to share them.

You can see how much I grew throughout the hunting seasons

My first Black Bear, September 2020. Age 23.

Amazing how much I grew up.

Anyway, I have a question. Does anyone have a brine recipe for game meat? I heard that brining game meat makes them taste a LOT better. I know this is a fact for Duck and Goose, but I dont know if that brine will work for Deer and Black Bear.

Any advice or recipes for brining game meat?

Jared
No sorry I don’t Jared. Let me ask my friend that hunts to see what he has.

Follow up on friends method of preparing venison.
So he says he doesn’t brine but will on occasion marinade in Italian dressing.

I have a question for you all. I plan on making Christmas cookies this year, but I also want to make gingerbread men.

I have a good recipe for Christmas cookies, but not gingerbread men. Does anyone have a gingerbread men recipe?

I can't find my recipe at the moment Jared, but these 3 are in the Index:
#407
#10,618 (that one is Ron's)
#3,721

HI Marie!
Next on the list here is a new fridge. The rest of the appliances work well. I do like the oven\range that I bought about 8 years ago. It was a good purchase
My biggest problem apart from not having much in the way of cash, is the lay out and size of the kitchen. The work tops are awful and I'm aiming to see if I can save to have a working surface that will surround the hob I intend to buy, eventually, to stop the food dropping at the sides and to give me more work space.

I would dearly love to have an oven range. An old friend of mine once had one that ran on wood, many year's ago I practically lived at a local farm that had the same their food tasted good and their bread and pies to die for. :)
