Perhaps our environment plays a role as I’m finding they aren’t more work than chickens. They actually have improved the deep litter in the duck house because of their moisture so I have less dust and better compost with less work from me. However, with less work there they do need their pools drained and rinsed but that’s not too terrible with a drain in the pool. I have Indian Runners and White Layers.

I’m sorry to hear about the blood blister, those can be painful! Healing does take time and the older we are the longer it seems to take I think. You’ll get there!

I do think that the extra work of maintaining a pond would be a big factor in work load!

Actually it works the other way here, I cook, DW eats.

What is wild garlic chives? I've never heard of it.

The pond was fine. We had a Pond Master (still have) it rotates and keeps the water clean. And we did have a creek to feed clean water.
Pond was a joy. The Ducks did NOT WANT TO COME OUT OF IT. Aria
