Any Home Bakers Here?

OK, I need some help. Me and my mom tried making bread together, and this happens every time. We are obviously doing something wrong. It’s splits in the oven.

Granted, I got a good rise in the oven. However, it just looks ugly. I don’t want it to look this way, I want it to look better!

What the heck happened, and how do I prevent it from happening again?

Here’s the recipe I followed.

We rolled the bread into loaves, shut the seam, put it seam side down in a sprayed loaf pan, made sure it was nice and smooth, and we have no idea what the problem is.

This is getting VERY frustrating. Why can’t I make it look nice? It makes me SO ANGRY!
Curious why you had seams .. Never had seams when I make bread that really is not very different than what I bake

Go to thebreadguide.com/bursting. Good luck!

Nice out, but windy. The daffodils are going crazy now. I'm not a big yellow flower fan, but I do LOVE daffodils.

I really need to make some more bread. And peanut butter. Not gonna happen today, and probably not tomorrow either.
Same here....want to bake...no energy. Must WAIT. It has been a Long upset for me ...difficult to get back to what may be normal. Aria

Yes to the advice to use the recipe you want to try , but just do it by hand. It will be a bit of work to kneed it enough, but a young guy like you will have no problem. I like the bread machine recipes because they are usually single loaves and there are only 2 of us to eat it.

When my loaves do that, it is because dough is too dry and and the outside dries out before baking. Make sure it has risen enough before baking. Also, you didn't slash the top right before putting it in the oven - use 3 or 4 shallow slashes on a diagonal on the top of the loaf before you place it in the oven.
