I am baking butter cookies today. They are cut out and resting in the fridge now.

What do y'all do with excessive fruit or veges from the garden? I make dill pickle spears from the cucumbers. This year I have a bumper crop of carrots! I made some carrot jam, but most people are not a fan so it looks like it's time to make carrot cake! Anyone have a great recipe?

My mom always canned green beans and carrots. I hope to grow enough carrots in my unfinished garden to can some. She would drain them and dump them in a small pan with butter, salt pepper and an herb - sometimes dill. other times parsley.

We are having a strange Summer here in New York...
but my deck garden is doing wonderful. I have a raised beg with herbs ad lettuce and large Clay pots with my tomato plants. I prefer it to a large
garden...this is much easier and plants are growing and developing well. I have enjoyed Salads and looking forward to MORE> Aria
