@ronitt, I have a food dryer. I saw the instructions for dehydrating the starter, which takes a long time. Can I use the food dehydrator? Sure would like to have some for back-up and/or to share.

There are dried sourdough mixes in packets just like regular yeast now..having a couple in the cabinet is great backup for when things don’t go well, or for starting a new culture..@ronitt, I have a food dryer. Good for you, Jared, you inspire me! I've done everything practically wrong with my starter but it's bubbling merrily along in spite of me. I'll be making sourdough biscuits for dinner this afternoon. I fed a portion of it last night, the rest is in the fridge.
I told The Man we are supposed to name it and immediately he suggested, "Billy Bob?" Cracked me up, so "Billy Bob" it is!
Have you named yours, Jared?
I use the food dehydrator on the coolest setting I have, which is 90F. If yours can go that low, it will work.@ronitt, I have a food dryer. One trick I use to make breads softer, is to interrupt the gluten formation by putting the flour first in the mixer, then adding whatever oil or butter goes into the recipe, then letting the mixer beat it in big time, increasing the speed, putting a towel over the mixer if it raises any dust in the beginning. This integrates the oil in first, everything else stays the same..just for your files..doesn’t look like you need any tips, though..gorgeous breads..!Here’s the bread I made yesterday. Sourdough just came out. Two more loaves of white bread in the oven, then I’m done.

And the sourdough bread recipe was already posted. I was going to make wheat bread, but I seem to have lost my wheat grinder in the move.

I rely a lot on parchment paper, too late for that nugget of wisdom I know, but..makes life easier.. If they don’t come out right away, maybe leaving them a bit will cause moisture to build up from the bottom, and you can get them out..OK, guys. I need some assistance with my bread. I put the loaves in the oven, but I forgot to spray the loaf pans. I’m worried that the bread will stick to the loaf pans when I take it out of the oven. How would I go about removing the bread from the loaf pans?
