Sally PB, You are too funny. Will be looking for your report. Have fun. AriaI'm trying chia seed mixed with water as an egg replacement in my GF bread machine recipe. Last time it turned out very gluey. This time I used 3 T chia with 3/4 C water.
The hens are getting close to molting, and the pullets aren't laying yet. I'm getting ready to have fewer eggs, so we'll see if I can make GF bread without them and have it be acceptable.
I'll report on the results. I'll have to eat the results too.
We are on parallel tracks. Time to start freezing some eggs since my pullets most likely won't lay until mid Nov or later. The hens are getting close to molting, and the pullets aren't laying yet.

Well here's the report. Total failure. I rarely throw stuff I make out, but this is goo in the middle. So I baked it a whole second bake cycle, for a total of 2 hours. Will be looking for your report.

I guess I'll be buying eggs this weekend. We might get enough for weekend breakfasts, but I want to make GF bread and grownies.
My pullets will be 19 weeks the middle of October. That's the age my first batch started laying.
I've only had a couple lay that early. Generally speaking anywhere from 23 to 28 weeks is "normal" for the girls I've gotten. Some a few weeks younger or older. 23 weeks for my pullets will be mid November. All the older girls will have quit well before then.My pullets will be 19 weeks the middle of October. My first Black Australorp laid at 19 weeks, 2 days, then the second laid the next day, and the third was at 20 weeks.I've only had a couple lay that early.
