Any Home Bakers Here?

UPS and FedEx routinely deliver my packages to the house next door. I'm fine with that; my driveway is very difficult for their trucks, especially now that winter is here. My neighbors bring the packages over. They get a lot of stuff delivered, I get very little. Maybe the drivers are on autopilot.

I know to check the delivery status on anything I order often. If it says it's been delivered and I don't have it, I just start checking with the neighbors.

Hopefully the neighbors don't just open whatever is delivered, use it, then find out from the spouse that no one at their house ordered it and THEN look at the delivery address.
I don't think that will happen. Possible, but not likely.

"Honey, why did you order.... filter material? What is this stuff?"
"Huh, what?"
"Oh, it goes next door. Never mind."
"So what strange thing is Sally making now, I wonder?"

DH had an Amazon order, so I had him tack on a silicone baking mat. I looked in the Sonoma store in the mall, and they didn't have this kind: round, with long tabs on the sides. You put it in the Dutch oven, put the sourdough loaf on top of it, and then you can lift the whole thing out when it's done. It takes the place of parchment paper.
Thanks for the tip!

I have not baked much since Thursday. Today I decided to make a turkey casserole. That thought turned into turkey pasta salad. I opened the cabinet to pick a pasta, and pulled out a Bacon Ranch Suddenly Salad. Turkey bacon ranch pasta salad? Oh, yes! :drool
I also canned three quarts of turkey stock today. All signs of Thanksgiving will be in the freezer or pantry by tonight.

A friend of mine had 4 UPS deliveries not show up after being shown on-line as being delivered. The 4th one, she happened to be home and on-line when it showed up as being delivered. Her terrier never barked - big clue that UPS didn't come near her house - and there was no package at the door. She called in and had a discussion with the customer service. They checked the delivery address and it had been changed to a different address - it did not match her billing address even though her name was still on it.
She called the local police and working with the UPS clerk, the police stopped by the "delivery address" to ask about the package. The person answering the door "didn't know anything about a UPS delivery" ... the cop saw the personalized throw she had ordered on the kitchen counter but couldn't follow up because the person "denied any knowledge" of the package.
She hasn't lost any packages since - but she now puts a delivery message that says "If delivery address is not #####, Contact (her name and phone number)".
The cops think that there was a person at the local UPS distribution center that was altering the shipping labels somehow and in cahoots with the lady who got the visit from the cops.
