Last one that I thought was a tooth turned out to be something else. Not a fossil. This time, I found a fossil.

Crinoid stem.

Thank you, also, for taking care of your grandparents. Yes, it is VERY difficult to see someone's mental faculties deteriorate. It makes any lucid moments that much more precious.

May not seem baking related, but it is, trust me.

I found something while going through the grandparents stuff and loading it in a truck.

Thank goodness I have an 8mm player.

This was my weather yesterday while driving back from Spokane. My brother was driving when I took the picture. Slight phone editing.

My grandparents are mentally deteriorating fast. We actually need to hasten the work on getting the house ready for them to move in with us. They’re going to move in with us in about three weeks.

It’s that serious. My grandfather is having severe memory issues, as well as my grandmother. My grandfather‘s worse, though. It may be dementia.

My grandfather also tore a rotator cuff.

Truth be told, I hate seeing them suffer with their memory like this. But that’s why they’re moving in with us, so we can take care of them.

We moved about half their stuff down already yesterday. We’re putting it in a storage unit, per the grandparents request. In three weeks, we’re moving the rest down, including the grandparents.

I’m going to be busy.

It’s family. You’ll find the time to do what needs doing. But may I offer a bit of unsolicited advice, as one who cared for my father-in-law until the end of his life? Seek out any additional resources you can….respite care for a few hours, exchanging an hour’s worth of time with your spouse to give each of you a precious hour just to sit outside undisturbed and read, taking just one grandparent out at a time for a short outing….anything to ease the stress. I didn’t do that, and I paid dearly for it after Spike died. I felt like the whole house of cards would collapse if I wasn’t in charge of everything, and at the time I was also my 2 year old granddaughter’s full time day care provider. She was autistic on top of everything else. In addition to his cognitive dysfunction, Spike was an insulin dependent diabetic along with being incontinent and having heart disease. There are times when ya just gotta love ‘em enough to let ‘em hate you for a little while.
