I believe it does. I’ve done this with two other fans several years ago.

These are not from the last hunt. These were taken several years ago.

The fan from the most recent hunt is actually in between these two.

When I tanned a snake skin years ago, I used laundry soap. That was in the 1970s though. Modern laundry soap has a lot less phosphate in it so I likely would not work.

The snake skin got best in show at the Tehama county fair in Wildlife 4-H.

You could use lye soap.

It probably has the properties you need to tan with.
