Any Home Bakers Here?

Nice Idea. I always bake cookies that are good keepers ...make a large couple of
batches and ALWAYS have cookies in two cookie jars. Works for me. Comany
loves tea and cookies. Having company tomorrow.
If you had 2 always hungry men in your household, I’m not sure you would ever have a filled , let alone 2 filled cookie jarś 🤪

I forgot the instant yeast in the bread today. I didn’t have extra time to let it rise, so into the oven it went. I have not been feeding Jennifer, but she still did a good job. :thumbsup IMG_5639.jpeg

The neighbor that needed the bread for her dinner (creamy vegetable soup “like at Dixi Stampede”), said it was fine, but a little tough. I think the tough was the sourdough letting itself be known.
I’ve never heard of creamy vegetable soup, but she said it’s about the same as making potato soup. Anyone familiar with it?
 These neighbors get most of the stuff I think is not right. The chocolate mint scones that were more cookie made her say, “you need to open a bakery in your kitchen.” The pb chocolate chip cookies today made her say, “seriously! These are the best things you have ever made! I’ll give up cranberry orange scones for these! Please open a bakery, and sell to the neighborhood!” Even the failed bread was good enough in their opinion.

Well there ya go BC! What are you waiting for?

Here creamy veggie soup is a regular staple, you just fry some veggies to taste ( usually here it is either cream of broccoli or creamy parsnip root soup) , of course you start with diced onions, then as I said the veggies of choice ( I always add some diced carrots, leek, parsnip root and root celery to improve the taste) add some diced potatoes and then let it simmer about 20-30 minutes, after that just purée it smooth, many people add some fried diced bacon or croutons, some chopped parsley leaves, there you go, if it is too thin, you can make it thicker by adding some cornstarch mixed with cold water and boiling the soup ( while stirring) , some add some grated cheese or double cream, don’t forget salt/pepper and a pinch of sugar

I enjoy not measuring things, and get too busy to bake sometimes. It would have to be more, “I will bake for you if you ask,” or “Come every Tuesday and Friday to see what I have.”

I asked if it was like creamy broccoli, but she said it wasn’t even close, and no potatoes. I guess it’s just that much flour and milk.
