Can you replace the coil to fix it? I have no idea if that's dumb question, or if the part is expensive.

Yes. We were able to track down the part. we ordered it and we are just waiting for it.

If this doesn’t fix it, though, I’m going to take it into a place to get repaired.

I am about 60% positive that this will fix it, though.

I really need a bigger dutch oven but it's not in the budget unfortunately so my tops are always flat

What if you divide it in half and bake two smaller loaves? That's what I did this week. The second loaf just stayed in the fridge while the first one baked.

My recipe made two of these 1# loaves instead of a single mammoth 2# loaf that I have to cut in half and put half of it in the freezer. This week I was able to give one away, which was nice.
